In this post, I want to share a wonderful, simple technique with you that will help you relieve anxiety quickly and gently and help you return to the sweet, peaceful joy that rests just below the surface of your experience of feeling worried or anxious.
Going from Anxiety to Peace and Quiet Joy in Five Minutes
A couple of days ago, I woke up early with thoughts going round and round in my head, worries about things going on in my life right now. This doesn’t happen very often anymore thankfully, but once I realized this was happening, I decided to get up and do some tapping on these worries. I did a couple rounds of basic EFT to let go of the anxiety which did help… it brought down the intensity, but I could still feel the anxiety hovering at the back of my mind and I wasn’t feeling peaceful yet.
Then I remembered a client telling me about how she had used my simple peaceful well-being PEP technique using just the hand points I’d taught her and she was able to relieve her anxiety quickly and gently. I realized that this was the perfect opportunity to use this technique myself. Read the rest of this entry »
In this video, I will teach you how to do my new technique which I call Positive Energy Psychology, aka PEP. I am so excited to share this with you. PEP is such a wonderful, positive uplifting way to align your consciousness with what you want to experience in your life. It also helps you to release any old conditioned patterns of thinking and feeling that may be in conflict with these wonderful expanded ideas without having to focus on those negative patterns directly. It truly is a positive form of EFT and takes the feeling you get from doing EFT to a whole new level. Read the rest of this entry »
This simple phrase can bring you there.
About a week ago, Morgan and Liliah and I went to Crystal Magic, a wonderful bookstore here in Flagstaff, and as I was browsing, I found a book called Wired for Joy. I believe it was about how we can rewire our brains and create new neural patterns that make it much easier to evoke and experience the feeling of joy in every moment. I love that idea. As I was looking through the book, one phrase in particular stood out and really resonated for me. Read the rest of this entry »
Letting Go of Painful Thoughts and Feelings and Loving Yourself as You Are
In my last blog post (Absolute and Unconditional Self-Love and Self-Acceptance), I told the story of how I was able to use a simple Positive Energy Psychology (PEP) process to go from anxiety and emotional pain to a state of peaceful self-love and self-acceptance. Whenever you’re feeling a negative emotion, it’s generally a sign that you are not fully loving and accepting yourself in that moment. The next time you find yourself feeling bad about a situation in your life, particularly when you feel like you are judging or rejecting yourself for something, I really encourage you to give the following process a try. Just follow the simple steps I outline below to let those old conditioned patterns go and bring yourself back to loving and accepting yourself unconditionally no matter what. Using Positive Energy Psychology (PEP) to Let Go of Painful Feelings and Return to Peace and Well-Being
It has become more and more clear to me that the key to releasing anxiety, fear, or any other negative emotion we experience is this: to love and accept ourselves absolutely and completely no matter what. Total unconditional self-love and self-acceptance frees us from the underlying low level of anxiety and negative emotion that most people experience in their lives on a daily basis. As you may remember from my last blog post (The Beginning of Something New: Positive Energy Psychology), I recently had an epiphany about how to do EFT in a whole new way that feels much more uplifting and empowering. I realized that we don’t need to focus on negative phrases, ideas, and memories in the way that EFT traditionally does. Although I love EFT and find it a very effective tool, I’ve never really liked its negative focus and I finally realized that this inner resistance was telling me something. There is another way. About a month and a half ago, I had this inspiration come to me about a wonderful new way we can use Energy Psychology to help ourselves to feel really good and achieve what we really want in our lives. I realized that we could use EFT in a whole new way by essentially focusing on positive phrases we want to anchor in our consciousness and touching the points rather than tapping on them. This method feels really good and seems to work even better than EFT as a daily practice. I call it Positive Energy Psychology (or PEP for short) and it truly has been a breakthrough for me. Is there something that you really love to do but you find that you rarely make the time to do it? I think that’s true for many creative, sensitive people. In this video, I talk about why I think we do this and what we can do about it.
We know that we really do love doing things like writing, art, singing, dance, theater, etc. but we let our desire for perfection hold us back from exploring these things more deeply in our lives.
Although the pursuit of excellence is a noble goal, we really do need to let go of expecting ourselves to be perfect right out of the gate. Except for a few rare exceptions like Mozart, successful creative people don’t usually start out with perfection. If we expect that of ourselves, we will never give ourselves the opportunity to make it through the awkward beginnings stages of exploring our creativity. It takes a willingness to do something badly to eventually get to the place where we do it very well.
In this video, I’ll walk you through an EFT process to help you let go of those expectations of perfection so that you can explore and have fun with your creativity in whatever way you are inspired. From my own experience, when I give myself permission to not be perfect, I’m often surprised at how well things turn out. Plus, I have a lot more fun. And when it comes down to it, that’s why we really want to do these creative things: because we just feel so good when we’re doing them.
So, I hope this video helps you get to that place yourself. When you let go of that pressure to be perfect, you let yourself just enjoy expressing yourself as a creative being in whatever way you are inspired.

Today’s EFT video post will really help you on those days when you feel overwhelmed with too many things to do and you just can’t seem to prioritize and get started. When I’m feeling that way, sometimes I end up not getting anything done and I end up procrastinating: surfing the web, getting a cup of tea, checking my e-mail… like that. If this sounds familiar to you, you’re going to really like this video.
When you find yourself in that state, just watch this EFT video. It only takes seven minutes and you will feel so much better at the end. It will calm your mind so you can prioritize and focus on the task at hand… and even enjoy it.

In this video post, I walk you through an EFT process to help you stop procrastinating on something that you know you have to do but you really don’t want to. The EFT process that I guide you through in this video is simple but very powerful and it will totally help you stop procrastinating and just do what you have to do. I promise you that you will feel better when you do.
First thing though, be sure that the reason you’re procrastinating is because it’s just something you don’t like doing. If you’re procrastinating because you’re feeling overwhelmed by too much to do or because you think you have to be perfect at it, you should follow the next two EFT videos I’ll be posting here to help you let go of these underlying issues.
Man, I wish I’d known EFT back when I was in college. We used to regularly get afflicted with “German Essay Syndrome,” where you have to do something unpleasant that you really don’t like doing (like the weekly German essay…) and so you mess around and waste time, all the while feeling the weight of the German essay hanging over your head. EFT would have helped us just do it and get on with having fun.
So, go ahead and give it a try. Follow along with this video and let me know what happens.
See you next time,
Laura
